Tskitishvili Chosen Player of the Year

{mosimage} In a survey organised by the georgian newspaper “Msoplio Sporti”, the fans have chosen Levan Tskitishvili as their player of the year 2006.

The fans had a chance to vote from 11.12 to 28.12. The ceremony took place at the Vaso Abashidze Theater in Tbilisi on the 28. December.

Tskitishvili, who right now is playing for the greek side Panionios Athens, {mosimage}was chosen first with 607 votes. The Erzgebirge Aue striker David Siradze who has played an impressive season so far was chosen second with 568 votes. The captain of the dutch side AZ Alkmaar Shota Arveladze came up third with 523 votes. Other contestants were Levan Kobiashvili (Schalke), Malkhaz Asatiani (Lokomotive Moscow) and Kakha Kaladze (AC Milan).

“I can not say that I expected to win, but I am very happy that the fans have chosen me”, said Tskitishvili, “I want to thank everybody who took part in this survey”.
