Ameri unlucky after fightback
Ameri came close to an impressive comeback only to see their Polish guests prevail on penalties in Tbilisi. Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, the Georgian side put the pressure on Bełchatów from the start and saw a number of chances go begging before Suliko Davitashvili teed up Dmitri Tatanashvili to head their opener late in the first half. Just after the interval, Davitashvili pounced to convert after Georgi Dekanosidze's effort had hit the crossbar and the scores were all square. However, Ameri failed to make further opportunities count and Bełchatów held their nerve in the shoot-out.
