In the first game of 2008 Georgia received Latvia and conceded a historic defeat against the baltic team.
Georgia were already 3-0 down in the first half after mistakes from the defence and the out of form goalkeeper Nukri Revishvili enabled the Latvians to score really easy goals.
After the break Georgia finally woke up and began to play football but they could only score a consolation goal by captain Kakha Kaladze, which was his first in the national team. Georgia were pushing Latvia in their own half but couldn`t really break through their defence until the 87th minute when David Siradze was awarded a penalty and he tried to convert himself but he shot wide ower the bar, symbolic for Georgia`s bad performance on that day...
