A shock for georgian football!

Ameri Tbilisi president Zurab Potskhveria declared, that after recent financial problems, his club would not participate in 2008/2009 Umaglesi Liga. Almost all first choice players of the squad have already left the club and Ameri will try to build a new team with unexperienced youngster while playing in first devision. Giorgi Chikradze will stay head coach of the club, which is based in Tbilisi`s suburb of Gldani. Georgian football league had the wish to add a new club to Umaglesi Liga, but beacuse no club of the first devision seems to be able to give financial guarantees, the season will have to be played with 11 teams. Ameri are two times georgian cup holders, and also played on uefa cup, showing matches to remember against Hertha Berlin and GKS Belchatow

Time to say Bye Bye to Ameri for at least one year, hopefully to see you soon again...
